What is this software?
This software patch is for a phone reset issue that occurs under certain specific and rare conditions. Download this patch only if you are experiencing reset issues with your phone on a regular basis.
Do you need this update?
If your phone is resetting unexpectedly, we suggest that you install this software, if needed.
- Tap Start.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap the System tab.
- Tap About.
- Tap the Phone tab.

Look for the Software Version. What do you see?
Treo700wx-1.11-ROWEN: We suggest you install the Radio Patch. The process will take approximately 15-25 minutes.
Treo700wx-1.12-ROWEN: You do not need to install this software.

System Requirements
Device requirements
- Treo 700wx for Alltel only.
- This update will not work on any other Treo smartphones.
- Allow some time for this update, preferably when you won't be interrupted by phone calls or text messages.
- Be prepared to back up your data before the update and restore it after.
- Keep an eye on your smartphone during the update. Respond to prompts and alerts in a timely manner.
- Plug your smartphone into its AC charger and keep it plugged in throughout the update.
Memory card requirements
- This update requires a blank memory card and a USB card reader.
- Do not use an expansion card with a SD adapter. Instead, please use a standard-sized SD card between 64MB and 2GB.
How To Install

Format the SD memory card in your computer (here's how). It needs to be blank in order to proceed.
Keep the expansion card in the reader, connected to your computer.

Download the patch (above) and double-click it to unzip it.
On your computer with the memory card connected, copy the unzipped files into the root directory (top level, no subfolders) of the expansion card.
The following files should be in the root directory of your expansion card:
- 2577 (FOLDER)
- CdmaFwOnExitApp.exe
- firmware.bin
Do not insert the card into your smartphone yet.

Connect the USB sync cable to your smartphone, and complete an ActiveSync. Ensure your data has been backed up before proceeding.
Disconnect your smartphone from its AC charger and USB sync cable.

Connect your smartphone to its AC charger. Do not have the USB sync cable connected to your smartphone.
Insert the expansion card into your smartphone.
The update will begin after a few prompts. Select Proceed when prompted.
Your smartphone radio will power off, and the Treo logo will appear. The update may take a moment to begin.

Do not disconnect your smartphone from the AC charger during the update.
The update will take approximately 15-25 minutes. During this time, the device's firmware will be updated.

|
|
When the update is complete, you will be prompted with a SUCCESS notification. Press OK to dismiss this message and exit the updater.
Press and hold the Red End key to power on the device's radio.
You will need to Dial *228 and select option 3 when you hear the recording to re-provision your phone for use.

Your Treo 700wx is now updated.
Connect the USB sync cable and complete an ActiveSync to restore the data you backed up at the beginning.

|
|
Check your Phone Info as you did before. The Software item should read Treo700wx-1.12-ROWEN.
Finally, re-format the expansion card or delete the files on the card.
